One of the Best Sermons on Missions You’ll Ever Hear

I want to invite you to come, serve with us in this mission of love.

Matthew 28: 18  “And Jesus came and said to them, “ALL authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 GO therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

1. Jesus is Sovereign over all things – in heaven and on earth.

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”

2. Our responsibility is to go.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations,”

This message reinvigorated my heart afresh in my 8th year here in Japan.  The Sovereignty of God emboldens us to take the Gospel into hard places.  Doing missions, no matter where you go, is hard work.  But the Sovereignty of God enables us to venture into arenas that we might never have gone otherwise.  If God is speaking to you, which I believe He will through this message (below), come, consider Japan as your mission field.  Give yourself to Him entirely.  Don’t worry about the details.  Before you start to rationalize, say Yes to missions as you listen; and God will take care of the rest in His Sovereignty. (Read Why Japan!)

John Piper tweeted, “This may have been the most powerful missions message I’ve ever heard. I needed to be quiet with God.”

Also read this article titled “What  I want for All Missionaries!as you prepare to leave behind your job, house, friends for the sake of Christ and the unreached people groups, who may have never heard the Gospel had you not packed your bags to follow your Lord in this mission of spreading His love.
